Lunch Rides

Novice riders

4 hour lunch ride, again taking it easy along safe tracks, through breathtaking scenery to stop for a home-cooked lunch at Humblebee Home bed and breakfast. Our return journey will wind through tiny mountain villages to home – a taste of the real Spain!

1½ hour riding – 1 hour lunch –1½ hour return
Price: 95 euros per person

Experienced riders: both picnic and lunch rides available from the stated minimum hours to all day prices on request.

El Chorro Ride

Riding ability – experienced / must be able to canter

From the yard, we will head North West over undulating hills and down through orange and lemon groves, passing over streams and riding up towards El Chorro national park. We stop for refreshments at Restaurante Rocabella, nestled at the foot of Sierra La Huma. After a delicious 2 course home cooked lunch, we will saddle up to explore the secret tracks of El Chorro, winding our way down into the valley and home.

Las Cruces Ride

Riding ability - walk and trot

Leaving the yard and heading downwards into the dry riverbed of Pollo Moro, winding our way into the mountains to eventually climb up to discover the Ermita Las Cruces. This small church marks the 3 meeting boundries of Alora, Cartama and Almogia. On a clear day you will see breathtaking views of the coast and surrounding area. From here we travel a little further down to find our excellent homecooked lunch waiting for us where we will sit on the terrace and admire the view of Alora. Our return ride takes us down and over into the valley of Arroyo Ancon and through a tiny mountain village with a busy bakery and school. This ride is especially beautiful in February when the almond trees are in blossom.
